BACK TO ROCK
“Back to Rock” short animated film is one of the series of short animated films dedicated to the music genres of the "ArtStep Studio". Created by ArtStep and OnOff studios, this film brings to life the original idea by Ararat Minasyan.
Due to evolution, people turn into sexless and faceless creatures, practically devoid of any emotions, living on command and busy only getting food and energy. But human nature is unchangeable and the desire for freedom and originality cannot be controlled.
Evolution played a cruel joke on humanity - people turned into sexless and faceless creatures of the same height, void of hair and voice. Practically devoid of any emotions, they live and work on command, and are exclusively engaged in the disposal of worldly goods, gained or collected by previous generations over the years in order to get some kind of universal substance out of them. They use the substance both as food by injecting it into a vein and for gaining energy to service the disposal equipment. Yet, a randomly found working tablet reveals a picture of the bright and varied life of their distant ancestors- a life full of love, adventures, passions and music. And yes, it is the rock music that makes the protagonist regain his striving for freedom and share it with the whole world.
To create this unique film, we used the innovative technique of VR painting and animation, with Quill as the main program. Our team meticulously crafted every detail, with lighting and composing done in Blender.
